CALENDAR OF ACTIVITIES (B.P.Ed.) 2014-2015
Academic year 2014-2015commenced on 15th July 2014 with opening address of the Honourable Principal Shri. S.D. Chavan to the newly joined student teachers.
In this speech Principal intorduced the role of a teacher in our society, the qualities of a good teacher and the individual commitment and devotion expected by the society form him.
He also acquainted the student teachers about the 14 years old and one of the top Institution in the field of Physical Education Jawahar Education Society situated in round about 7.20 acres. The aim of the Institution is to create a genuine and enlightend interest in Physical Education and Sports among the youths. He also informed about the resources available in the area of the college which includes all play courts multipurpose Gymnasium Hall, 400mm running track, library, laboratroy and separate hostels for Boys and Girls.
The honourable Principal also informed the rules and discipline of the Instituion and intoroduced the teaching staff, Librarian and the non-teaching staff.
Through out the week, as a part of General Orientation programme all member of the teaching staff acquainted the student teachers about the Theory programme and the practical work such as various games they have to learn, work experience, social and cultural activities and academic programmes. They also informed about the theory subjects with its weightage given by the University.
The teacher acquainted the student teachers about different aspects of practice teaching such as demonstration lessons, micro lessons- practice teaching lessons, in schools observation of lessons, use of teaching aids, evaluation and weightage of internal external assesment, the number of assignments/tests to be carried out for theroy and practical. They also told about the co-curricular activities such as Intramurals, Educational camp, tours and etc., organised by the Institution during the academic session.
THEORY AND PARACTICAL WORK RELEVANT TO PRACTICE TEACHING
To enabling the student teachers to acquire the basics of the teaching profession and the concepatual for managing the class-room task effectively in this particular period of 2nd week to 13th week should be suitably selected and their teaching be designed properly by the teaching staff.
After identify the deficiencies of the student teachers teacher tryes to fill up the subject knowledge and then demonstration lessons being organised. Through these demonstrations student teachers acquired facility in using teaching aids such as over head projector, CD Rooms, pictures charts etc. they also guided by the teachers to prepare charts, posters, playgroung models etc. related to the teaching subjects.
Morning Assembly campus cleaning, gardening, organisation of social and cultural functions also organised by the Institution during this period.
PRE-PRACTICE TEACHING INPUTS
After 13 lectures on Micro teaching and demonstrations of lessons student teachers delivered 5 Micro Lessons in academic subject and Physical also on related subject group.
Before the school experience subject experts provide guidence and traning in planning and writing of the unit plans and the lesson plans, and organised demonstration lessons student teachers were being encouraged to prepare and use teaching aids external experts also arranged for the guidence.
Before going to the school for practice teaching the student teachers prepared lesson plans and learning materials and got them approved by their subject experts.
PRACTICE TEACHING
After the complition of micro lesson school experience is essential for enabling the student teachers in getting first hand experience. Fortunatly the Instituion has two secondary Schools in its campus to organised the programme. These lessons were supervised by the method master and the peers. It starts in the week 16th canclude in week 21st. Student teachers prepared teaching-learning material according to their subject matter and submitted after the lesson to subject experts.
CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
For the development of the personality co-curricular activities must be organised in the Institute. Taking this matter in to consideration the Institution also conduct various type of co-curricular activities through out the year.
- Some of these activities are cultural activities like music dance, dramas sport quiz etc.
- Instituition orgainsed a personality/Leadership development camp of one week duration at Bamnoli, Dist. Satara where the students teachers got rich experience.
- Intramural compitions were also organised through out the year in the games like Volley Ball, Basket Ball, Cricket, Hand Ball, Foot Ball, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Concluding with Atheletic meet etc.
- Institution also organised one day study tour at Pune Balewadi sport complex and also one day Bycycle tour at Ramling and Dhuloba Temple at Kolhapur Distrrict.
- The Institute celebrates various important days and festivels like Independance day, Republic day, Teachers day, Grurupornima, Kozagiri Pornima, Raksha Bandhan, Shiv Jayanti, Shahu Jayanti, Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti, Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, Ganesh Chaturthi Festival etc.
- The Institution also organised Tenisvollyball state champion ship tournament.
- Our Institute organised a Lecture on Aids Mr. Jadhav J.P. showed slide show about Aids which give lot information about Aids to our Students.
- Our students and Staff Members participated in Pluse-Polio Programme which was organised with the help of Rotary Club, Kurundwad and Government of Maharashtra.
- Governments Taluka Level Primary School Championship was successfully held by our College. For making this Championship successfully our teacher and students helped a lot enthusiastically.
- Sanjay Ghodavat's "Tulsi Blood Bank, Jaysingpur" had arrenged "Blood Donate Camp" with the help of Rotary Club, Kurundwad. In this camp our 40 students and 10 staff member Donate their Bolld for the help of nation.
- Our College had taken a responsibilities of organisation of "Mini Marathon Competition" which had been arrenged by M.S. Patil Trust, Kurundwad.
- Our College had taken a responsibilities of organisation of different age group "Cycling Competition". Which had been arrenged by M.S. Patil Trust, Kurundwad.
- Our College helps to complete "Taluka Kesari Wrestling Competition"
- Raised funds for Tsunami hit people Telifilm was was organised by college and Lions Club to the students and public at Girish Cinema Theatre.
- Two teachers were honoured by college in the Teacher's Day.
- Prof. Metkar delivered lecture on "Vyasan Mukti" and the function was organised by our college.
EVALUATION
As an Integral part of the entire teching learning process Evaluation of the student teacher is very essential.
Through out the session there were number of occassions to evaluate the performance of student teachers in theory as well as practice of teaching and the practical work.
Through out the year the Institution conduct & sessional tests and 2 assignments of each paper and conduct practical test for every game and sports. Before complition of the First term the institute conduct. the terminal examination and after the complition of the total academic year also organised pre-Annual Examination. Then the student teacher appreared for the Annual Examination organised by the Shivaji Univerysity, Kolhapur.
